Talk:Where to Start
Reading this page, I am wondering about the intended audience.
Is the intended audience here prospective J programmers or prospective Wiki contributors or some other group... software architects?
What kind of background would this audience have?
What sorts of examples would be relevant here?

Creator's initial response: I have in mind a technically minded person, presumably with some acquaintance with computer programming, who wants to go deeper or in a new direction.
This text deals with all the major areas of knowledge needed to compose useful programs. It does so in a cursory way, noting some main pitfalls and restrictions, but not delving into more complex or obscure combinations. The title indicates that many of these areas are interrelated, or at least accessories to each others' use. I therefore advised one inquirer to read it through before giving up one any one section; he admitted that some earlier sections made more sense after reading later ones.
My recent revisions include some re-ordering, some refinement of descriptions, and a few notes on access.
