Talk:NuVoc
Earlier reference sources are pointing to the jsoftware version of the documents rather than the wiki version. This means that the pages may be slow to correct errors, as the ability to change text on Jsoftware site is restricted. Bob Therriault (talk) 05:40, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Exact Match typo?
From: DoT on Discord. In the NuVoc pages, the page on Match -: states that one should "use -:!:0 to force exact comparison." I think they mean -:!.0 not -:!:0 . I tried sending feedback through the pages but wasn't able to log in. Doug Mennella (talk) 20:40, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- Fixed here. Thanks, Raul! Doug Mennella (talk) 20:40, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
You show up as a current user, Doug, so I am not sure why you weren't able to log in. Let me know if this continues to be an issue Bob Therriault (talk) 20:44, 4 October 2022 (UTC) Ahh, I get it now, you were acting on behalf of someone else on Discord. Thank you for helping out Doug :-) Bob Therriault (talk) 20:56, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
Adding Functional Control Flow page to Ancillary Pages
I’d like to add the following Functional Control Flow page to the Ancillary Pages list. If anyone wants to critique it and offer feedback in terms of its compliance with NuVoc standards (or in terms of the content/structure) first, please feel free to do so.
The motivation is to demonstrate how general control flows can be achieved without the use of J’s control words, as this seems like a common question, and is a page I wish I’d had early on.
I would plan to link to it at the bottom section ("see related") of the pages for Agenda, Fold, Antibase, Base, and potentially some control word pages like select.
.
Also note that some examples use the proposed ..
alternative comment word and the ...
line continuation proposed here; these would be removed until they are added to the current non-beta version of J. Finally, I’d plan to replace all code tags with tt tags in keeping with NuVoc formatting. --Cameron Chandoke (talk) 19:55, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
